No More Kings!

President Trump hung a special copy of the Declaration of Independence on the wall of the Oval Office. When asked what he liked most about the document, he fumbled, revealing just how little he understood its meaning. The very declaration that justified rebellion against authoritarian rule now hangs above a man pushing America to the edge of authoritarian rule. The irony doesn’t get any better.

Today, the military is being reshaped to serve the President instead of the Constitution. Multiple sources report purges within the Pentagon, where seasoned leaders are being replaced with political loyalists. The goal is clear: control the chain of command.

Meanwhile, on our streets, ICE agents clad in military gear terrorize neighborhoods, apprehending people without warrants or due process. They rarely know who they’re detaining; they grab first and justify later. And in Los Angeles, the National Guard, now federalized by Trump, has descended on protesters, stirring up the crowd like an angry hornet’s nest. Tensions are reaching a breaking point.

It’s hard not to see Los Angeles as a provocation. Trump’s administration appears to be engineering a confrontation that can be labeled an “insurrection.” Once that label sticks, the machinery of repression can roll forward under the guise of “restoring order.” It’s a textbook casus belli; a manufactured excuse for crushing dissent.

The writing is on the wall. In the Oval Office, the writing is literally on the wall. A confrontation between the people and their government is increasingly possible with each passing day. And if history is any guide, the American people will rise to meet the moment. The spirit of the Declaration of Independence still resonates in people’s hearts. It’s woven into the fabric of our culture. Across the nation, the people will rise and reclaim the promise of freedom. And they will chant, “No more kings!”
